About Soul & Spice
Once every two months in Port Harcourt, Soul & Spice welcomes friends, neighbours and strangers to the best R&B event in Nigeria. Each edition brings R&B culture together with amazing food and cocktails by the city’s top mixologists.
The music
We play only R&B and Soul, from the 90s and 2000s to today’s crowd favourites, so our guests can lose themselves in the music, dancing and singing their hearts out.
The people
These events have become a place for our guests to build community. For eight hours, nobody worries about spreadsheets, deadlines or ongoing projects. All that matters is making memories: singing karaoke with your friends, and singing along to songs that remind you that you are where you are meant to be.
Soul & Spice is a DJ-led event, but it centres on people rather than on headliners or supporting acts. Whether you are new to town or just visiting, this is where you want to be.
Our story
We first announced Soul & Spice on 27th March 2026 in an Instagram post by Nteoniro Bertram. Nine days and hundreds of signups later, on Easter Sunday, 5th April, we held the first edition to a packed room of more than 200 R&B lovers in Port Harcourt. What started as a chance to get people in a room has become a bi-monthly event.
Now in its fourth edition, we have kept going because we have now created a culture that has transcended one event… We are now building a third space where people can put down their spreadsheets and screens, even for a moment, and dance together again.
We now think of Soul & Spice as a third place: somewhere to dress up to, sing, dance and be seen. We turn nights out into moments to share, with the right music, great company and cocktails.
